Fully promoting the innovative development of philosophy and social sciences in colleges and universities is of great significance for promoting cultural prosperity,building a socialist cultural power,and writing a new chapter in the modern civilization of the Chinese nation.Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,philosophy and social sciences in colleges and universities have achieved leapfrog development,with solid foundation,fruitful academic achievements,and promising prospects for further development.At the new historical starting point,facing the era requirement of accelerating the construction of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics and establishing an independent intellectual system,colleges and universities still face issues such as the need to optimize the matching and balance of their discipline system,improve the originality level of their academic system and increase their support for development,address the situation where the discourse system is'unable to articulate the truth or spread it widely',and improve the institutional mechanism for collaborative innovation in scientific research organization and management platforms.These issues urgently need to be studied and resolved.Adhering to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,taking the service of China's economic and social development as the orientation,strengthening organized scientific research as the focus,enhancing dissemination and influence as the priority,and deepening institutional reform as the driving force,comprehensively promoting the innovative development of philosophy and social sciences in colleges and universities is an important path for universities to fulfill their critical functions of cultural inheritance and innovation,and cultivate and strengthen the foundation and spirit for national rejuvenation.
