Every team of “shehuo” has an eye catching image, i.e., “maigaoyao”. They hold shaking bells as the guide of the team. In addition, they would sing blessing and interesting “shehuo” lyrics with rich emotions based on different time and location. The Song dynasty zaju plays Yan Yao Suan (acid eye drops) is a comedy which jeers the scholar doctors who sell eye drops. In the play, two actors, vice-Jing and vice-Mo, make jokes to each other by means of boasting and attacking, to bring about amusing factors. This paper compares these two forms of performance from the raiment, the prototypes of the roles, and the effect of acting, and then summarized that the role of “maigaoyao” in “shehuo” team is an inheritance of the image of Yan Yao Suan.
