Grasping the characteristics and behavioral laws of capital is a vital issue for the development of Marxist politi-cal economy in the new era.It is of great significance for regulating and guiding the healthy development of capital in the condition of socialist market economy.Since socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,with the rapid development of Chinese economy,theoretical research and practical exploration of capital under the conditions of socialist market economy have deepened.Domestic academia has conducted comprehensive,systematic,and in-depth discussions on issues such as the characteristics of capital,the behavioral laws of capital,the forms and functions of capital,capital governance,and the experiences of the Communist Party of China in dealing with capital.At the same time,it should be noted that there is a dilemma in the academia's exploration of capital issues in terms of fundamental theoretical research.There are blind spots in the comprehensiveness of research perspectives and there is a tendency for research methods to deviate from practical needs in terms of scientific research.Based on summarizing the current research status of capital is-sues in the academia under the conditions of the socialist market economy in the new era,exploring the further direction and path of capital research is a fundamental work to continue promoting capital research under the new historical condi-tions.Insisting on the dominant position of Marxist political economy is the fundamental stance of capital theory research.Upholding the development of socialist market economy practice is the practical foundation for innovative capital theory.Adhering to interdisciplinary integration is an important path for the development of capital theory.
