Colonization of algorithm in love:Ethical challenges and countermeasures for dating App algorithms in the age of artificial intelligence
In the past ten years, artificial intelligence algorithms have made great progress, and intelligent algorithms are regarded as a new approach to solving human problems. At the same time,in a humanist framework, love is often seen as the most intimate emotion in our lives, but it is increasingly controlled or manipulated by a small number of programmers using artificial intelligence. In the contemporary world, many dating platforms are designing so-called smart algorithms to identify more potential matches for users. These AI-powered matchmaking systems are driven by a wealth of data, not only capable of predicting what types of mates a user is likely to choose, but also profoundly influencing the way people choose their mates. In response, this article critically explores the potential implications of delegating romantic decision-making to algorithms, and the ethical challenges that may arise,by drawing on Habermas'theory of the colonization of the life-world.Based on a real-world analysis of the use of algorithms by dating Apps such as Tinder,it points out that the world of love life is being colonized as online dating algorithms invade people's romantic relationships to such an extent that the act of intercourse in romance is superseded by the algorithm's technical rules. In order to deal with the ethical problems caused by algorithm colonization,it is necessary to focus on making up for the inherent logical defects of algorithmic thinking from the individual dimension, optimize the algorithm model and standard design from the technical dimension, and endow love relationships from the dimension of enterprises and dating application designers.Individuals have more in-dependent choice rights, and based on this,we can explore the possible path of"de-algorithmic colonization"of ideal love relationships in the future.
