Transmedia storytelling of Chinese films from the perspective of community aesthetics
In recent years, the theory of"community aesthetics"has emerged as an important achievement in the field of Chinese film research. As a concept that emphasizes collaboration, interaction, and sharing,it provides a profound theo-retical foundation and practical guidance for transmedia storytelling.Concurrently, the theory of"transmedia storytelling"and"community aesthetics"resonate with each other, equally emphasizing integrity, interactivity, and commonality, yet also evoking independence, individuality, and difference.By examining the cross-media storytelling of Chinese films through the lens of"community aesthetics",this study provides a comprehensive analysis from the perspectives of"nar-rative community","imaginary community",and"participatory community",unveiling the development strategies of transmedia storytelling in Chinese films. These strategies include constructing narrative representations based on story worlds, considering story consumption as the industrial foundation, and adopting a participatory culture of widespread en-tertainment as a dissemination strategy. This not only reflects the practical value of transmedia storytelling but also under-scores the guiding significance of the"Chinese experience"within community aesthetics. In conclusion, through research on community aesthetics and transmedia storytelling, this paper uncovers the development trend of transmedia storytelling in Chinese films and calls for Chinese films to return to local practices and demands to meet the high expectations of users for story consumption in the new era, thereby achieving mutual benefits and shared goals.
