Investigation on mental health literacy of Chongqing residents and an analysis of demographic features and related factors
Objective:To investigate the mental health literacy of residents and related factors in Yubei District of Chongqing,China,and to provide a basis for health administration departments to formulate relevant policies and measures.Methods:Permanent adult residents,aged ≥18 years,were selected to participate in a questionnaire survey on the mental health literacy of residents,and a sub-factor analysis was performed for the demographic features and related factors of the participants.Results:The results showed that sex,age,education level,monthly income,marital status,occupation,and smoking/drinking habits were significant predictive factors for whether an individual met the criteria for mental health literacy.Conclusion:There is a relatively low level of mental health literacy among the residents in Yubei District of Chongqing,and multi-party cooperation should be strengthened to develop targeted measures for the popular science of mental health.
