Examination Admission System of Five Polytechnics in Singapore:Types,Main Features and Enlightment
Promoting the reform of the examination and enrollment system in vocational colleges and opening up channels for the advancement of technical and skilled talents is of great significance for the construction of a modern vocational education system.After more than 60 years of development,Sin-gapore Polytechnics have formed a relatively scientific and distinctive examination and enrollment sys-tem,with a variety of examination types and important admission criteria based on the Singapore Cam-bridge"O"level examination results.The applicant qualifications and enrollment methods are diverse,and the Polytechnics have greater enrollment autonomy with a well-established management and super-vision institution.In the current context of enrolling a large number of non-traditional students,the re-form of the examination and enrollment system in vocational colleges in China can draw on the benefi-cial experience of the examination and enrollment system of the Singapore Polytechnics,promote the re-form of classified examination and enrollment and provide diversified enrollment methods for vocational higher education applicants;Promote the construction of the national qualification framework and de-sign a selection system for comprehensive training;Expand the autonomy of vocational colleges in enroll-ment and strengthen the construction of enrollment committees;Improve the management and supervi-sion mechanism for vocational higher education examination and enrollment and establish specialized examination and enrollment research institutions.
