Study on Utilization of Central Divider Guardrail in First-class Highway Reconstructed to Expressway
A first-class highway is reconstructed to expressway.In order to shorten the construction period,reduce the engineering cost,and take into account the pavement overlay condition,after full research,on the basis of using the original central divider two-waved beam guardrail and road side guardrail structure,a central divider reused guardrail is proposed.The computer simulation method is used to carry out the safety evaluation of this structure.And the full-scale crash test of the real vehicle has been passed.The test results show that the protection level of the central divider guardrail to be reused reaches Level Ⅲ(Am).The blocking function,buffer function and guiding function all meet the requirements,and the safety performance of the guardrail is reliable.The reused guardrail has been applied in practical engineering,which not only improves the safety protection capability of the central divider guardrail,but also obtains the good economic benefits.
