Feasibility Study of One-part Form Short-range Denitrification-anammox Process to Treat Circulating Cooling Water of Power Plant and Municipal Wastewater
The anammox reaction has been a concern since the day it was discovered because of its autotrophic denitrification characteristics. As a technique stably to provide nitrous nitrogen for anammox reaction oxidation, the short-range denitrification technology will reduce the nitrate only to the nitrite nitrogen, and has been considered the most energy-efficient nitrate wastewater denitrification technology now.At aiming the one-part form short-range denitrification-anammox process, the feasibility of realizing the synchronous denitrification of concentrated power plant circulating cooling water and municipal wastewater is studied. After 26 d of domestication under the condition of pH=9,the short-range denitrification reactor that can achieve stable accumulation of high nitrite at low pH is successfully started. After adding anammox sludge,a one-part form short-range denitrification-anammox reactor is started promptly. The organic matter able to be used in the short-range denitrification process mainly originates from the municipal wastewater. Therefore,it is expected that the removal amount of organic matter in the pretreatment process can be controlled by controlling the initial precipitation of chemical enhancement so as to control the carbon-nitrogen ratio of the influent and to realize the stable denitrification. The short-range denitrification-anammox technology can achieve the synchronous denitrification of concentrated power plant circulating cooling water and municipal wastewater under the premise of the low material input, low energy consumption, low carbon emissions and low residual sludge production, which is an economical and environmentally friendly treatment technology.
