Discussion on Maximum Longitudinal Slope of Non-motorized Vehicle Lanes Considering Electric Bicycles
The current regulations require that the maximum longitudinal slope of non-motorized vehicle lanes should not exceed 3.5%.However,there are problems to meet this requirement in the scenarios such as the mountainous cities and the connection of slow traffic systems on both banks of cross-river bridges because of large engineering land occupation, high cost and poor feasibility.Considering the increasing proportion of electric bicycles in non-motorized vehicle traffic, taking the national standard electric bicycles specified in the Technical Specification for Safety of Electric Bicycles(GB 17761-2018)as the research object, the force analysis during the riding process is carried out,and a reference value for the maximum longitudinal slope of non-motorized vehicle lanes that can meet the requirements of electric bicycle riding is proposed, which can be used as a reference for similar projects with a high proportion of electric bicycle riding.
