Research on Pile-Soil Interaction Modes of Vibro-Sunk Steel Pipe Piles Based on Load Tests
Vibro-sinking is a relatively new and innovative precast pile construction technique that has received little attention in research on the pile-soil interaction of pile foundations, particularly for steel pipe piles. To address this issue, this study employed a slow single pile vertical compression static load test to investigate the load-bearing capacity variation of single vibro-sunk steel pipe piles.Based on four possible pile-soil interaction modes, the vertical ultimate bearing capacity of the pile was calculated using the mechanical equilibrium method, with adjustments made according to vibro-sinking influences in accordance with regulatory guidelines.By comparing experimental results with theoretical calculations, this study reveals the pile-soil interaction characteristics of steel pipe piles under vibro-sinking,with implications for the calculation of single pile ultimate bearing capacity in vibro-sinking pile applications. These findings provide valuable insights for geotechnical engineers and other professionals involved in pile foundation design and construction.
