Overall Design of V-pylon Composite Girder Cable-stayed Bridge
The Huachi Street Bridge spanning Loujiang River in Suzhou Industrial Park is a(83+28+28.6)-m V-pylon cable-stayed bridge. The main span is a steel girder, and the side spans are the concrete beams, which are connected through a steel-concrete composite section. The transverse bridge direction is parallel with the double pylons and double cable planes. Each pylon is V shape in elevation. The inclination angle of the main pylon is 40° and the inclination angle of the sub-pylon is 35°.The bridge pylons are solidified with the main girder. The supports are set at the bottom of the pylons. The stay cables are arranged in three sections. The parallel steel wire stayed cables are used. The seismic isolation design is used for the whole bridge. The friction pendulum bearing is used to reduce the structural seismic response. The west side of the bridge is adjacent to Suzhou Metro Line 8 under construction. The cast-in place pile foundation is used for the bridge. The steel casing is used during construction to avoid any impact on the subway shield. The construction scheme of support assembly is used for this bridge. The results of the finite element analysis indicate that all mechanical properties of the bridge meet the specification requirements, and the design is safe and reliable.
