RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CITY LAYOUT AND HEAT ENVIRONMENT BASED ON REMOTE SENSING TECHNOLOGY: A CASE STUDY OF WUHAN CITY
The relationship between heat environment and city layout is a new subject in ecological planning and scientific planning, while heat island effect is the main problem for the heat environment of city. This paper takes Wuhan city, which is extremely hot in summer, as an example. ETM+ satellite images are used to inverse the city's surface temperature and classify the city's underlying surface. Then these data are evaluated with the parameters which reflect the condition of vegetation of underlying surface such as NDVI to study the condition of city heat island effect The heat island's structure inside and its correspond-ing underlying surface types are also studied and improving measures for the underlying surface are advised. Furthermore, by the use of satellite images, the method of choosing typical ground objects is used to make farther research on the analysis of the relationship between underlying surface and heat environment. The result shows that the relationship between city heat environment and urban planning is very close and irrational arrangement of city underlying surface and excess denseness of activities are main points causing heat island effect. Vegetation and water are good tools to adjust city heat island effect, which should be paid attention to.
