competitive sports in a new era shoulder the important mission of helping to build a healthy China. Competitive sports should be based on the three logical dimensions of improving the health level of citizens,promoting national mental health,and optimizing social system health to help build a healthy China. The realistic challenges ahead are as follows:the combination of high energy consumption,imbalance and strong barriers of competitive sports leads to unreasonable allocation of sports resources;multiple barriers existing in the field of competitive sports and medical treatment restrict a deeper integration of "sports medicine";the ethics,spirit,value as well as the leading demonstrative role of competitive sports in social transformation are not enough;competitive sports are poor in cultural soil,event quality and ecological guidance,and;there are some deficiencies in governance,industry and public service with respect to competitive sports. The innovation path suggested include:breaking resource barriers,building linkage mechanisms,and promoting the social sharing of competitive sports resources;expanding cooperation channels,accelerating scientific and technological transformation,and building a new environment for the "integration of sports and medicine";guiding value rationality,carrying forward national tradition,and constructing a new dimension spirit and ethics for competitive sports;deepening project culture,improving the supply of events,and creating a new ecology of competitive sports culture;promoting institutional governance,optimizing the industrial structure,and raising the competitive social service to a new level.
