Research on the Impact of Banking Industry Competition on Enterprise Capacity Utilization
Improving enterprise capacity utilization through market-oriented mechanisms is an essential requirement for promoting high-quality economic development.This study examines the influence of banking industry competition on en-terprise capacity utilization using data collected manually from A-share listed companies during the period of 2009-2021.The findings indicate that increasing the level of banking industry competition significantly enhances enterprise capacity utilization,and this conclusion still holds after robustness tests.Mechanism analysis reveals that banking industry competi-tion can restrain excessive investment by companies and increase innovation inputs,thereby improving enterprise capacity utilization.Further analysis demonstrates that banking industry competition can improve the capacity utilization of enter-prises facing overcapacity,stimulate the capacity utilization of enterprises with high external financing demand,and en-hance the capacity utilization of enterprises whose top executives have no financial backgrounds.
