Construction of Local Credit Investigation Platform and Development of Digital Inclusive Finance——An Empirical Study Based on Multi-period Difference-in-difference Model
Based on 295 cities in China from 2011 to 2022,this paper empirically tests the impact of construction of local credit investigation platform on the development of digital inclusive finance and its mechanism by using a multi-period DID model.The findings show that the construction of local credit investigation platform significantly improves the development level of digital inclusive finance,and the conclusion is still valid after a series of robustness tests.The construction of local credit investigation platform promotes the development of digital inclusive fiinance by reducing transaction costs and alleviat-ing information asymmetry.In addition,the construction of local credit investigation chain strengthens the promotional effect of local credit investigation platforms on the development of digital inclusive finance.The impact of local credit investiga-tion platform construction on the development of digital inclusive fiinance is significant in eastern and central cities,key cities,and areas with high levels of social trust,but less pronounced in western cities,ordinary cities,and areas with lower levels of social trust.
