In the first half of 2023, the Ministry of Public Security launched 10 new measures for traffic management, including optimizing the management of urban exclusive bus lanes. Beijing, Shenzhen, Qing-dao, Nantong, and other cities have successively released related management measures regarding exclu-sive bus lane management, sparking widespread discussion and attention. Urban transportation industry ex-perts, scholars, and frontline personnel in the operation and management of bus transit were invited to ex-change views through writing, in terms of the reasons and basis of the management measures for exclusive bus lanes, the planning, management, and usage of exclusive bus lanes, as well as the operational challeng-es faced in bus transit operations. On this, exploration was conducted on how to establish a normalized planning and evaluation mechanism for right-of-way changes during the development stage of urban stock, as well as the path for addressing the challenges in bus transit development.
