Street are an important place to improve the quality of urban space,as well as an important area to promote block renewal and governance improvement.Taking the evaluation of healthy streets as the re-search object, this paper first interprets the method of healthy streets in London, emphasizing the connec-tion between healthy street evaluation and urban governance, evaluation results, and implementation im-provement.On the basis of the London Healthy Evaluation method, combined with the local development background of Beijing, the paper enriches the evaluation connotations and proposes Beijing's healthy street evaluation method that takes the physical and mental health of residents as the goal and comprehen-sively considers social, economic, environmental and other factors.Specifically,8 primary indicators and 20 secondary indicators are included in this method, which is divided into three categories:mandatory eval-uation items, subtraction items, and bonus items. The section of Liangma River in the Sanlitun area of Bei-jing is selected as a pilot to conduct the subjective and objective evaluation of the current situation of the street, and the corresponding improvement suggestions are proposed. The post-evaluation results of con-ceptual design show that the scores of street safety, spatial environment quality, and walking and cycling friendliness have been significantly improved. Finally, the paper points out that the evaluation of healthy streets,as a planning technology, can be developed into a potentially important tool in the field of urban governance.
