[Objective]As an important vector organism,ticks can carry and transmit a variety of pathogens,including viruses,bacteria and protozoa,which are serious threats to public health.The aim of this paper is to study the prevalence of ticks and tick-borne diseases in Xinjiang,and to provide a reference basis for further prevention and control of tick-borne diseases.[Methods]The results of previous studies on the epidemiological status of ticks and tick-borne diseases within Xinjiang,the sources of infection,clinical symptoms,and preventive and curative measures are summarised.[Results]There are a wide variety of ticks and tick-borne diseases in Xinjiang,and the situation of prevention and control is grim,which seriously threatens the development of the animal husbandry industry and human health in Xinjiang.[Conclusion]In order to reduce the transmission and infection of ticks and tick-borne diseases in Xinjiang,it is necessary to further strengthen the research on ticks and tick-borne diseases in Xinjiang,and propose scientific and effective prevention and control measures.
