Study on the Design Strategy of Multifunctional Pocket Parks in Idle Public Space of Old Urban Communities:A Case of the Design of Shishan Community Pocket Park in Zhuhai
The public space in old community often has various problems,such as unreasonable spatial layout,aging facilities,and single function,and so on.How to design the pocket spaces that meet the diverse functional needs of community residents and promote the sustainable and innovative development of the spaces has become an important issue that needs to be urgently addressed.This paper explores the application of pocket parks in the renewal of idle public spaces in old urban communities.Taking the design of Zhuhai Shishan Community Pocket Park as an example,this paper proposes design strategies from the perspectives of site strategy,multi-functional spatial integration,environmental protection and ecological design strategy,community participation and community culture introduction strategy,etc.,which helps to promote the sustainability and multi-functional integration development of urban old community renewal.
