Conducting natural education is a necessary requirement for the construction of ecological civilization and the harmonious development of humans and nature. With the continuous understanding on the characteristics and requirements of natural education bases, urban parks may become important places for conducting natural education and an important way for the public to understand nature,in order to solve the problem of conducting natural education on-site for urban residents and to enrich the contents and forms of natural education. This paper uses SWOT analysis method to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of urban parks in China in conducting natural education. It points out that the abundance of natural resources and environmental facilities, convenient geographical location, and profound historical and cultural heritage are its strengths. The limited availability of ecological systems for learning, the lack of conditions in some parks, and the shortage of professional personnel in the industry are its weaknesses.Based on this, strategies, such as using landscape micro-renewal in urban parks to integrate resources, enhancing brand building and promotion, deepening the integration of science and technology, and promoting industry standardization and professional construction, are proposed to provide a reference for the sustainable development of natural education in urban parks.
