Research on Open Space Planning in Small and Medium-Sized Cities at Home and Abroad:A Case of Warrnambool City in Victoria,Australia
With the continuous increase of urban population,the problem of urban open space is becoming increasingly prominent.How to give full play to the role of open space is crucial to improve the urban characteristics and to shape the urban style.This paper takes the planning and design of open space in Warrnambool in Victoria,Australia as an example,analyzes the concept,category,and vision of open space,and expounds the factors affecting urban open space planning from four aspects:policy factors,biodiversity and environmental factors,population change and residents'happiness index.The current situation and the existing problems of open space in Warrnambool city are analyzed,and the design ideas on how to improve the comprehensive environment of open space are put forward.
