Application of Powder Artificial Diet in Young Silkworm Co-breeding
To explore a labor-saving sericulture model, reduce sericulture costs and production risks, and promote industrial transformation and upgrading through technological innovation,a demonstration of the application of powder artificial feed for the 1~2 th instar silkworms of specific variety was carried out.A total of 80 boxes of silkworm eggs were raised three times, and the cocoon production of each box in which young silkworms were fed with artificial feed increased by 9.1 kg,4.1 kg and 12.0 kg,respectively, compared to mulberry leaf rearing. After silk quality inspection, compared with mulberry leaf rearing, artificial feed rearing of young silkworms increased the reelabitity by 12.94 percentage points, cocoon filament length increased by 207.0 m,non-broken cocoon filament length increased by 275.1 m,reelability de-flossed renditta decreased by 34.7 kg,the frequency of rushing upon cocoons per 10 000 m decreased by 1 time, cleanness remained unchanged, neatness increased by 2.1 points, and the rate of reelable cocoons decreased by 6.14 percentage points. The cost of raising 100 boxes of silkworm eggs with artificial feed for young silkworms is 1 030 yuan lower than that of mulberry leaf rearing, saving 10.3%,mainly in labor costs.Artificial feed for young silkworms reduces labor costs by 25.9%compared to mulberry leaf rearing. The application demonstration of artificial feed for raising young silkworms provides new ideas for multiple batches of safe sericulture throughout the year, and industrial transformation and upgrading.
