Research Progress on the Production of Modified Silk from Silkworms Fed with Nanoparticles
Silk,as a high-quality natural fiber,is widely used in textile, medical, cosmetics and other fields. At the same time,in order to further enhance the application value of silk fibers, various methods are adopted to modify silk fibers, including surface chemical modification, physical process treatment, genetic engineering modification, etc. In recent years, the use of nanotechnology to modify natural fibers has become a new trend.Among them,it has been found that adding nanoparticles to silkworms can change the mechanical, electronic, optical and other properties of silk fibers, expanding the application of silk fibers in emerging fields such as flexible electronic skin, medical tissue engineering, and biosensors. This article will review the research progress, existing problems, and development trends of modified silk produced by feeding silkworms with nanoparticles both domestically and internationally, which is expected to provide reference for future research in related fields.
