Application of Taylor spatial frame in lower limb trauma
The Taylor spatial frame is a type of six-axis orthopedic frame widely used in clinical practice, especially in the treatment of limb fractures and deformities. In the field of lower limb trauma, the Taylor spatial frame, compared with traditional internal fixation devices or conventional combined external fixation frames, has the unique advantages of (1) damage control for multiple injuries without a safe surgical window,(2) infection control and deformity correction for fracture patients with severe infection and deformities,(3) wound protection and accu-rate restoration of the lower limb length and alignment for fracture patients with bone defects and severe soft tissue defects, and (4) precise reduction and protection from acute vascular or nerve injuries for patients with old fractures combined with severe deformities. This article, based on clinical experience and relevant literature research, discuses the application of Taylor spatial frame in lower limb trauma.
