Significance and development of proximal humeral fracture classification
Proximal humeral fracture(PHF)is a common fracture type and either conservative or surgical treatment can be performed.To clarify the classification of PHF can help distinguish various subtypes of PHF,which promotes understanding of this fracture,guides clinical treatment choices,and aids in prognosis judgment.It also fa-cilitates outcome comparison achieved by different treatment strategies.This article provides a detailed description of the advantages and disadvantages of the classic Neer classification,AO/OTA classification,and other classifications for PHF,and introduces the criteria used by the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital to determine the displacement of PHF.This article aims to strengthen the surgeons'understanding of PHF morphology and to assist in guiding clinical decision-making and prognosis prediction.
