Multifactorial shock in the early phase after polytrauma:keep in mind the diagnosis and management principles
Multifactorial shock, defined as experiencing more than one type of shock,is not uncommon in the early phase after polytrauma. At present, our understanding of multifactorial shock remains limited, and its misdi-agnosis could lead to serious adverse consequences.Comprehensive management of multifactorial shock in polytrau-ma patients is extremely complex, and there is still a lack of guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of multifacto-rial shock. The available treatment options often present conflicting perspectives, resulting in various risks and chal-lenges in clinical decision making. In this paper,we provide a preliminary exposition on the diagnosis and treatment of multifactorial shock based on the latest published literature and our recent clinical research.
