Traumatic hemorrhagic shock is an important cause of death and disability in humans. At pres-ent,there is no optimal treatment plan.Damage control resuscitation(DCR)is an advanced integrated resuscitation strategy, which has been widely used for traumatic hemorrhagic shock. The pathophysiological basis of traumatic bleeding is often called the diamond of death(hypothermia, acidosis, coagulopathy, and hypocalcemia).DCR can save the lives of trauma patients by emphasizing permissive hypotension, restrictive fluid resuscitation and transfusion therapy,goal-directed correction of coagulopathy, and damage control surgery to correct physiological disorders. This review aims to elaborate on the new research progress of DCR and deepen the new understanding of this concept.
