Promoting market integration and smoothing the domestic circulation is the key task of economic work in the new stage and an important force to promote cross regional col-laborative innovation.Based on the market integration event co-ordinated by the Yangtze River Delta Urban Economic Coordina-tion Committee,a local government,this paper constructs 435 pairs of city pairs,and empirically analyzes the impact of market integration on cross regional collaborative innovation by using the bilateral double difference method.The research results show that the effect of inter city patent cooperation in the Yangtze Riv-er Delta Urban Economic Coordination Committee is significantly improved,the effect of inter city patent cooperation with only one member is significantly decreased,and the"creation effect"and"diversion effect"of market integration on cross regional collaborative innovation are significant.The optimization of in-dustrial division of labor and the flow of R&D factors play an in-termediary role and contribute about 52％of the intermediary effect.Multidimensional proximity plays a positive regulatory role in the impact of market integration on cross regional collabo-rative innovation.The promotion effect of market integration on cross regional collaborative innovation is different due to different factors such as the level of economic development,the level of human capital,and spatial distance.The cross regional collabo-rative innovation promoted by market integration can narrow the regional economic development gap and promote regional coordi-nated development.The research results provide beneficial en-lightenment for the government to play a coordinating role under the guidance of the market,promote market integration and pro-mote cross regional collaborative innovation.
