In recent years,green development has become deeply integrated into all aspects of social production and daily life.As the primary driving force behind green development,green innovation has attracted widespread attention from various sectors of society.A meta-analysis of relevant literature from 2019 to 2024 reveals a significant positive correlation between environmental regulation and enterprise green innovation,indicating that environmental regulation can effectively promote green innovation in companies.Further analysis shows significant differences in the impact of different types of environmental regu-lation on corporate green innovation,as well as variations in the effects on different dimensions of corporate green innovation.The analysis of moderating variables reveals that environmental regulation has a more pronounced impact on green innovation in non-state-owned enterprises,heavily polluting industries,and enterprises in eastern region.To better leverage the facilita-tive role of environmental regulation in promoting corporate green innovation,the government and relevant stakeholders should enhance existing environmental regulations and optimize their mix and structure.Industry regulatory authorities should develop differentiated environmental regulations tailored to the unique characteristics of various industries.Enterprises should comply with and actively implement environmental regulations,and contribute to the establishment of an integrated environmental reg-ulation system that involves the government,industry,and enterprises.
