The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), as the largest free trade agreement in the Asia-Pa-cific region, will have a far-reaching impact on the economic development of the Asia-Pacific region. Based on the analysis of the opportunities and challenges brought by the RCEP to China's chemical industry, this paper summarizes the current demand of chemical industry talents and the existing teaching model of chemical engineering major in universities. We put forward an innovative teaching model of chemical engineering major under the background of RCEP, which could provide theoretical support for promoting universities to train various types of chemical talents in line with the needs of industrial development and acceler-ating the development of chemical industry.
