Local universities shoulder the significant mission of cultivating high-quality talents for the local area and providing technological and intellectual support for regional economic and social development.This article starts with the construction of first-class chemical engineering majors in local universities,analyzes the problems existing in the construction of local universities'majors,introduces the construction path and strategies of Guilin University of Technology's first-class chemical engineering majors,and briefly describes the beneficial exploration and practice in building an integrated talent cultivation model of industry,academia,and research,as well as the new system of"platform+module"talent cultivation,as well as the achieve-ments of professional construction,to provide some reference for the construction of chemical engineering majors in local univer-sities.
