Application of Project Case Method in the Course of Ship Design Principle
The course of ship design principle is highly engineering and practical.Its targets make the students to fully understand the general design process of ship and to have the ability to perform the overall ship design.The case teaching method is introduced during the course teaching.The selection case background and its application in teaching are emphasized.Problem introduction for case teaching method is focused during the teaching implementation.Taking the theoretical knowledge points of"conception of ship scheme and dimensions determination"as an example,the development of bulk carrier designed by the loading capacity is introduced firstly.Then design considerations and dimensions determination procedure for ship scheme are descripted in detail.Preliminary teaching practice showed that the introduction of case method not only helped the students to understand and master the theoretical knowledge,but also cultivated students'engineering consciousness.
