The fundamental mission of a university faculty development center is to enhance the teaching effectiveness of instructors.Based on the construction and research findings of the faculty development center at Hefei University of Technology,focusing on the horizontal expansion of two key areas-teacher role reshaping and teaching strategy innovation-can significantly improve the intrinsic value and competitiveness of the faculty development center.Effectively integrating three vertical elements:national policies,university development,and individual faculty development planning,can notably boost the instrumental value of the center and optimize the teaching performance of faculty members.Implementing goal-oriented strategies and designing quanti-fiable,adjustable,and predictive faculty development plans can effectively increase faculty's sense of identification.Constructing a continuously progressive ecosystem for faculty development and emphasizing the effective translation of training outcomes into classroom teaching skills are key to ensuring the sustainable development of the faculty development center.
