Since 2021,the growth habits of tea cultivar'Baiye 1'and it tea quality grown in various tea areas including Puan,Leishan,Yanhe in Guizhou,Guzhang in Hunan,Qingchuan in Sichuan were tracked and investigated for three consecutive years, with that grown in Anji, its origin area, for control. This paper summarizes the comparative study of the main quality related components in spring tea leaves in Zhejiang,Guizhou and Hunan in 2023.According to the picking standard of"Anji Baicha",shoots with two leaves and a bud were collected and major quality related indicators including water soluble extracts and chemical components were determined. The results showed that the physical and chemical components such as water soluble extracts, total free amino acids and theanine content in fresh leaves of spring shoots in 2023 were significantly different among various producing areas as compared to Anji. The content of water soluble extracts was more than 42%in Anji, with free amino acids more than 4.5%,and theanine content more than 2.5%.The content of water soluble extracts in the other areas was more than 37%,with free amino acids more than 5.5%and theanine content more than 3.0%.The content of water soluble extracts in teas grown in non-base areas was more than 36%,with total free amino acids more than 4.0%and theanine content more than 1.5%.
