Yibin City is a major tea producing area in Sichuan Province,with a history of over 3000 years of tea cultivation.It is a transportation junction on the ancient Southern Silk Road and Tea Horse Road,as well as the core producing area of early tea in China and the hometown of Sichuan Congou black tea.It is now a core area of early tea products and a concentrated development area for"Sichuan Congou black tea".In recent years,the Yibin Municipal Party Committee and Government have attached great importance to the development of the tea industry.As of the end of 2022,the total area of tea gardens in Yibin City remained more than 1.3 million mu,with a total dry tea production of 102 200 tons and a comprehensive tea industry output value of 32.02 billion yuan,both ranking among the top in the province.This paper elaborates on the development status of the tea industry in Yibin City from the perspectives of planting,processing,brand,market and tea tourism,analyzes the main problems and challenges in the current development of the tea industry in Yibin,and proposes strategies for the development of the tea industry from tea garden management and variety introduction,quality improvement,and excavation and protection of tea culture,providing reference for further promoting the high-quality development of the tea industry in Yibin City.
