Lizhou Road is located at the junction of Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces, with a strategically vital position. It serves as a crucial passage from the Qin and Gansu regions into Sichuan, and is also an important means for the Song Dynasty to control the Shu region,as well as being a significant part of the Tea-Horse Road.Lizhou Road undertakes an important task for transporting tea from the Shu region, with routes including Chencang Road,Tangluo Road,Lizhi Road, and Yinping Road, forming a vast network for tea sales. The increase in tea production in the Lizhou Road tea-producing area enabled the Song court to obtain more war horses through the Han-Zang tea-horse trade. This trade not only met the military needs of the Northern Song Dynasty against the Western Xia,but also became a crucial link between the Song and Tubo, effectively promoting economic reciprocity and military alliances between the two sides. The operation of the Shu tea trade through Lizhou Road had played a positive role in promoting border stability and ethnic unity.
