Taking a medium speed diesel engine as the research object, the calculation and test of the influence of two stage sequential turbocharging system for marine diesel engine was carried out by combining simulation analysis with experimental verification. The research results show that:There is a matching relationship between turbocharged pressure,Miller timing, compression ratio and injection timing to optimize engine power, economic performance and emission at the same time; The fuel injection timing has obvious influence on the thermal load distribution in the cylinder. Using two stage sequential turbocharging system, the performance of diesel engine under all loads was optimized. The test results show that by combining two-stage sequential turbocharging system, low compression ratio and Miller technology, the power of the diesel engine is increased by 15%,the average fuel consumption under all loads is reduced by 3.9g/(kW·h),the efficiency of the two-stage turbocharging system reaches 71.3%,and the NOx weighted emission satisfys the limitation of IMO Tier Ⅱ.
