虚拟集聚能否助推城市经济绿色发展?

摘要
信息技术、数字技术与生产过程的融合,使得产业集聚由地理空间向虚拟空间转变,这种虚拟化的产业集聚形态能否推动城市经济绿色发展是亟须解答的问题.利用2007-2021年中国281个城市数据,考察了虚拟集聚对绿色发展效率的影响效应.研究结果表明:(1)虚拟集聚对城市经济的绿色发展效率有显著正向影响,优化资源配置、强化生产服务、产业结构升级是虚拟集聚绿色发展效应的三个重要机制.(2)异质性分析表明,虚拟集聚的绿色发展效应在交通基础设施薄弱城市和资源型城市更为显著.(3)非线性分析显示,虚拟集聚的绿色发展效应存在U型特征,现阶段仍有较多城市位于负向效应阶段,这表明虚拟集聚的绿色发展效应仍有较大提升空间.(4)空间分析表明,虽然虚拟集聚绿色发展效应的空间溢出存在衰减特征,但并无明显的溢出效应边界.研究结论为中国在数字时代的背景下推动绿色发展,实现"数绿协同"提供了有益参考.
Abstract
As a result of the integration of information technology,digital technology,and production processes,industrial clustering has transitioned from geographical to virtual space.It is crucial to address whether this virtualized form of industrial clustering can drive green development of urban economy.This study uses the data of 281 cities in China from 2007 to 2021 to examine the effect of virtual agglomeration on the efficiency of green development and finds the following:(1)Virtual agglomeration has a significant positive impact on the efficiency of green development of urban economies.Optimizing resource allocation,reinforcing production services,and upgrading industrial structure are three crucial mechanisms for the green development effects of virtual agglomeration.(2)The heterogeneity analysis shows that this effect is more pronounced in cities with weak transportation infrastructure and those that are resource based.(3)A nonlinear analysis reveals that there is a U-shaped relationship between green development and virtual agglomeration.Many cities still exhibit negative effects,indicating that there is ample room for improvement in the green development effects of virtual agglomeration.(4)Spatial analysis indicates that although there is an attenuation characteristic in the spatial spillover of the green development effects of virtual agglomeration,there are no obvious geographical boundaries for spillover effects.This study provides valuable insights for China to promote green development in the digital era and achieve"digital-green synergy".
