Crack failure analysis of nut in H series diesel engine turbocharger flange
Taking a cracking accident of the fastening nut on the flange surface of the H-series die-sel engine turbocharger as an example, using the process oriented principle, through fracture analysis, chemical analysis, metallographic analysis, and hardness testing,it was found that the cracking of the fastening nut originated from the hot rolling crack of the raw material wire.At the same time, the short-comings in the quality control process of the nut were also pointed out,and corresponding improvement suggestions were proposed.Unlike the object-oriented pattern that focuses on fault component detection, process oriented analysis places component failure analysis in the specific process of"design-manufacturing-use",making its detection activities more targeted, resulting in more efficient and accu-rate results.
