Simultaneous Inheritance and Innovation:A Literature Research on Graduation Creation of Modern and Contemporary Design Education in Shanghai Based on Case Study of Three Art Colleges
This paper is based on the background of the transformation of Shanghai's urban status and function after the founding of People's Republic of China,and is based on first-hand literature collection of graduation creations from three art colleges in Shanghai from the 1950s to the 1980s,as well as interviews and oral statements by the parties involved. This paper focuses on the school running philosophy and educational characteristics of Private Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts,Shanghai Light Industry School and Shanghai Arts & Crafts College in their historical circumstances,taking graduation creation as startpoint,and from the perspective of case studies and manuscript literature research,presenting three colleges' exploration paths for talent cultivation that allow inheritance and innovation to occur simultaneously. To prove that Shanghai as the national center of light industry production,its education pattern is greatly related to national strategic development needs during this period.
