Study on the Predation of the Pest Enemy,Arma chinensis on Basilepta Melanopus
In order to determine the predation ability of Arma chinensis on Basilepta melanopus, indoor experiments were conducted on the predation of the 5th instar nymphs and adults of Arma chinensis on Basilepta melanopus, and the pest control effectiveness was determined by fitting data with HollingⅡdisc equation. The results showed that both insect forms of the A.chinensis could prey on adult B.melanopus.The search time for the 5th instar nymphs of Arma chinensis was longer than that for the adults, but both took more than 2 hours. The predation amount is positively correlated with the density of adult B.melanopus, and at the same density, the predation amount of adult Arma chinensis is higher than that of 5th instar nymphs. The instantaneous attack rate of adult Arma chinensis is higher than that of 5th instar nymphs. The treatment time(th)of 5th instar nymphs and adults of A.chinensis on B.melanopus was 0.060 day and 0.043 day, respectively. The treatment time of adult A.chinensis on prey was less than that of 5th instar nymph. In theory, the maximum daily catch a/th value of adult A.chinensis on B.melanopus can reach 5.093,while the 5th instar nymphs of A.chinensis are only 3.050.The results of a,th and a/th value show that the adults of A.chinensis have a stronger control effect on B.melanopus.The conclusion of the predatory function response of A.chinensis to B.melanopus can provide reference for field application.
