Environmental Exposure, Toxicity and Toxic Mechanism of Microcystins:A Review
Microcystins (MCs), which is the most popular algae toxins generated by the explosive propagation of Cyanobacteria in the eutrophic fresh water, have caused worldwide concerns for their great toxicity, widespread dis ̄tribution and structural stability. This review summarized the recent development of pollution status of MCs and their representative toxicity and toxic mechanism. In addition, the suggestions were put forward for present studies, in order to provide the basis for effectively reducing the potential security risks and studying deeply the ecotoxico ̄logical effects of microcystins.
