Research Progress on Toxic Effects of Oil Spill Pollution in the Teleost Fish
This paper summarizes and analyzes the toxic effects of oil pollution on the teleost at home and abroad.Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs),the main toxic components of oil pollution that harms aquatic organisms, can cause various adverse consequences on the teleost through multiple exposure pathways. These consequences can be broadly categorized as follows:oxidative stress responses, developmental toxicity, neurotoxicity, cardiotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, and nephrotoxicity, etc.,leading to tissue structural damage, organ dysfunctions, and other damages to the teleost. This paper aims to present the unresolved issues in the current research and provide a basic theoreti-cal basis for the future analysis of the biotoxic mechanisms and the assessment of the ecological risk caused by oil spill pollution.
