Advances on Combined Toxic Effects of Microplastics and Hormone Drug Residues on Environmental Occurrence,Interaction,Fish Reproduction and Development:A Review
Globally, vast quantities of microplastics and hormone drug residues(HDR)are released into water bodies every year, posing a significant threat to aquatic life. These pollutants are widespread, creating complex mixtures that exacerbate their negative impacts on aquatic organisms.Fish,as crucial components of aquatic ecosystems, are particularly vulnerable, with these substances adversely affecting their reproduction and develop-ment.This paper provides a systematic analysis of the distribution of microplastics and HDR in global water bodies and reviews existing research on their combined toxic effects on fish species.Additionally,it identifies gaps in cur-rent research and offers recommendations to guide future studies on the environmental risks posed by microplastics and HDR.
