On Zhang Zai's Thought of "Shenhua" and its relationship with heart and nature
In Zhang Zai's philosophy,as the internal basis of the popular movement in"Qi"of"Taixu","Shen"can be understood as the metaphysical natural existence. Together with"Hua",it constitutes"Shenhua",the objective law of the natural movement of the universe. In the transformation of the natural law("Hua"),"Shen"embodies the characteristics of clear illumination and inclusive unburdened nature. These characteristics are manifested as"Gan"and"Tong"in the mind and nature."Gan"and"Tong",as attributes of the original state of"Shen",become the essential factors in the existence of the original state of heart and nature. Under Zhang Zai's philosophical perspective of the unity of Heaven and humanity,"Shenhua"endows the heart and nature with metaphysical essence and transcendental meaning.
