Study on the impact of AI applications on cross-industry labor mobility
This study explores the impact of AI applications on the possibility of cross-industry labor mobility from the perspective of varying sensitivities of different labor groups to AI technologies. The findings indicate that, overall,AI applications facilitate cross-industry migration, with each unit increase in AI applications raising the probability of individual cross-industry mobility by 0.20%.At the industry level,AI applications positively influence cross-industry mobility for individuals in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries, mining, and utilties(electricity, gas, and water production and supply),as well as construction, while they have a significant negative impact on the cross-industry mobility in manufacturing and education. At the individual level, males, yonger workers, and medium-skilled workers are more likely to engage in across-industry mobility.
