China's Family Education Studies is a new discipline that has emerged in contemporary society,focusing on the phenomena and underlying principles of family education.It serves as an"applied soft discipline"aimed at addressing family education issues and enhancing the quality and standard of family education.Characterized by modernity,it reflects the demands in modern society for a scientific and professional approach to family education.It emphasizes the joint achievements of both the familial community and personal cultivation,drawing on international experience to form a discourse system with Chinese characteristics.The attributes of Family Education Studies are prominently embodied in its practicality,sociality,market orientation,with distinct"interdisciplinary"characteristics.Currently,knowledge production in China's Family Education Studies is challenged by gaps in the comprehensiveness of its knowledge system,a scarcity of practice-oriented theories,and limited diversity in knowledge production sources.To address these limitations,this field requires collaborative engagement among governmentbodies,academia,parent groups,guided by a"problem-oriented"approach that integrates theories from related disciplines.Such an approach would support a diverse,comprehensive,and cross-disciplinary knowledge production model.Grounded in the family education practices unique to China,converyed through culturally specific discourse system with Chinese characteristics,a family education discourse system with Chinese cultural values should be established.
