Research on signal timing optimization method of urban isolated intersection based on Sumo
With the development of urban traffic,traffic congestion is becoming more and more serious,and urban intersections play an important role in alleviating congestion.The traditional isolated intersection signal timing scheme is difficult to deal with complex scenes,which leads to the decrease of passing efficiency.In this paper,the intersection of Qingtan Road and Baiyun Road in Changzhou City is taken as an example,and the simulation and optimization of signal timing is carried out with IDM following model.The traffic model is built by SUMO,and the signal timing is optimized by Webster algorithm and fuzzy control algorithm.Webster algorithm calculates the best cycle and the effective green time for each phase based on traffic flow and flow ratio.After optimization,the average delay is reduced by 3.3%,queue length is reduced by 7.5%,speed is increased by 8.6%,and occupancy is reduced by 4.5%.Fuzzy control optimization uses vehicle queue length as input and green light extension time as output.After optimization,the average loss time was reduced by 4.2%,the delay was reduced by 6.6%,and the speed was increased by 10%.When the traffic is in different proportions,the average queue length,average occupancy and average speed all increase.This study provides decision support for the traffic management department and effectively alleviates the problem of urban traffic congestion.
