Analysis of the Characteristics of Self-awareness Presentation in the Initial Sandplay of College Students
Using the self-awareness scale and sandplay, this paper explored the initial sandplay charac-teristics and differences of 193 college students with different levels of self-awareness.Results showed that:(1)College students in the high self-awareness group had significantly higher frequencies of moving sand figures(p<0.05)and manipulating sand than those in the low self-awareness group(p<0.001).(2)There was no significant difference in the selection of sand figures between the high and low self-awareness groups.(3)There was a significant difference in self-image presentation between the high and low self-awareness groups(p<0.01),with the low self-awareness group showing a significantly higher frequency of virtual self-image presentation than the high self-awareness group. Therefore, when dealing with college students with different consciousness tendencies, mental health workers in universities can an-alyze the frequencies of moving sand figures, manipulating sand, and self-image presentation characteris-tics in their initial sandplay to reveal potential problems.
